Darren Fletcher - Failed medical allegedly
If he signs on a three and a half year deal does that mean BFS is staying? Why would they let him buy an over the hill player , who would surely not be considered for a top six side this year or any other year for a future manager to discard immediately. This is his Bolton style management where he is so up his own a##e that he can make players good again ie Nolan.

Probably won't get 45 minutes in in more than three games this season.

Re: Darren Fletcher - Failed medical allegedly
Yeah.

He's had 45 minutes away to Burnley, that's more than enough time to prove himself!

They do appear to be a bit slippery. Perhaps they'll surprise us with a monster signing tomorrow.

Nah.

Granted Mr V

However, one report I heard was that the deal fell over on account of us refusing a term contracT and wanting a loan

Whatever mate, I just dont believe the board to be the idiots some here seem to want them portrayed as

Would not shock me if they implied the potential of a deal with the full knowledge that the medical would give them an excuse to adjust the actual deal as they wanted - Sakho shinanigans and that lad at Hamililton spring to mind

I think its the assumption that the owners are intelligent people and would be bonkers to risk their dough on the shit machine that is Darren Fletcher.

Re: Darren Fletcher - Failed medical allegedly
I ask again

Upon what basis is the assumption drawn that the board were at odds with Sam on this?

Is the suggestion that Sam flew an independant kite, negociating and then organising him to be at ours for a medical, purely off his own Bat?

If so - that is about a fanciful conspiracy theory I have heard, and I love a conspiracy theory.

He would have been alot more useful to us than what Nolan or Noble are now despite hes age.

Re: Darren Fletcher - Failed medical allegedly
How do we know how much he would have been paid? I keep hearing numbers flying round, but are the owners or manager on record saying how much he would be paid?

Re: Darren Fletcher - Failed medical allegedly
Ferguson is still Manu's ambassador,Far Cough, earning a bundle, and no doubt encouraging the walrus to take a punt on one of his favourite jocks, thus reducing United's wage bill at the same time.
ELEVEN MILLION QUID Fletcher would have cost West Ham over 31/2 years. Totally unbelievable for a 31 year old.

Re: Darren Fletcher - Failed medical allegedly
Why would Ferguson be pulling Sam's pants down, the cunt has retired, Van Gaal is in charge now

Re: Darren Fletcher - Failed medical allegedly
If Fletcher was fully fit,(lack of match fitness aside) it wouldn't have been a crazy deal. That's what the medical was for. It turns out he hasn't got the green light. I'll be pissed off if we gamble and sign him anyway, but it was worth checking with a medical.

Is Noble really up for sale? That's the first I've heard of it.

Re: Darren Fletcher - Failed medical allegedly
"Whatever was Allardyce thinking when he spent the last two weeks pursuing this crackpot scheme"

Ferguson was more than likely trying to pull his pants down, & allardyce was probably sucking it all up as he thinks they're bestest chums.

Re: Darren Fletcher - Failed medical allegedly
As Fletcher's current dubious talent was going to cost over 11 million for the duration of his contract, I'm not surprised Sullivan pulled the plug on this deal. Whatever was Allardyce thinking when he spent the last two weeks pursuing this crackpot scheme, then compounded the idiocy by trying to get rid of Mark Noble? The man is truly mad.

They're reporting it's off, so whatever you read was an old article.

Seeing as they're reporting that we've signed him when we haven't, I would suggest it's not only old news but also wildly inaccurate news. Then again it is the Daily Mail.

Re: Darren Fletcher - Failed medical allegedly
Don't know if this is old news but the Daily Mail are reporting that we've signed Fletcher on a 3 and a half year deal for £75k a week. Kick in the teeth for Reid.

Re: Darren Fletcher - Failed medical allegedly
Bit of a result this, knowing us we'll go back in for him when he leaves West Brom in 2 years...........
Or sign him now anyway.
